CALOCEDRUS -

Description of calocedrus

These three hardy, evergreen conifers are natives of North America and Southeast Asia and are commonly known as Incense Cedars. The branchlets of these trees grow in wide, flattened sprays and the leaves are scale-like, flattened, and densely borne in opposite pairs. Calocedrus decurrens (California Incense Cedar) is a large, conical-shaped tree with dark green sprays of leaves. It is suitable for growing alone or with a group of shrubs and trees. Calocedrus decurrens Aureovariegata is a medium-sized tree that produces golden yellow leaves, which are usually spaced unevenly along the branches. Calocedrus decurrens Berrima Gold is a slow-growing tree with orange bark and light greenish-yellow foliage that is tipped with orange in the winter.

Potting of calocedrus

They can be grown in ordinary soil.
