Description of diplarrhena

Diplarrhena moraea forms clumps of long, thin medium green leaves. Its small, fragrant flowers consist of three rounded petals, which are white, and the centers are yellow and purple. They are borne atop wiry stems in early summer. They somewhat resemble Irises. This plant grows up to 18 inches high with a spread of 9 inches. Diplarrhena moraea is originally from Tasmania and southeast Australia. This perennial is only hardy outdoors in mild climates.
