Doronicums (Leopard's Bane) are perennials native to various parts of Europe. Doronicum pardalianches forms clumps of heart-shaped, fuzzy, bright green leaves and small, golden yellow flowers, which resemble Daisies, atop thin, branching stems, in late spring. It grows about 30 inches high and spreads 2 feet. Doronicum 'Miss Mason' grows 18 inches high and forms clumps of dark green, heart-shaped flowers that have serrated edges. Its daisy-like flowers are borne singly on a stem above the foliage in mid- to late spring. Their thin brilliant yellow petals surround golden yellow centers. The flowers are great for cutting.

These plants will do well in most soil, but the best is well-drained, moist and humus-rich. Plant them in a lightly shaded spot.

These plants may be divided in the autumn or seeds may be sown in the spring or fall.
