This group consists of three deciduous climbers from the warm regions of the Old World. Dregea sinensis is the hardiest variety, though it must still be grown where temperatures do not fall below 20º to 30º F. Its slender stems grow up to 10 feet long and are covered with ovate-shaped, bright green leaves that have gray-down beneath. In the summer, downy umbels of fragrant, white flowers are produced. They are spotted with red in the center.

This vine can be grown outside in warm regions only against a warm, sheltered wall; otherwise, in a greenhouse.
